These three cottages all have 3 bedrooms and sleep 6. They were completed in 2007 and feature luxury contemporary design interiors which are stone built overlooking the lake to blend with the environment and tradition of the Peak District.

They are just four miles north of Matlock and set in private grounds surrounding the lake within 10 acres of unspoilt woodland, an ideal place to enjoy the abundant wildlife and a picnic or two.

Darwin Lake nestles in the hills between craggy moorland and The Derwent Valley World Heritage Site, in the beautiful Peak District / Derbyshire Dales. It is surrounded by forestry land and many attractions are close at hand. The bustling tourist centres of Matlock and Matlock Bath are less than 6 miles away. Designated the first National Park in 1951, the Peak District is a wonderfully picturesque area for walking or cycling with masses of open views and interesting areas to explore.

Within half an hours car journey you can visit Chatsworth House, Carsington Water, Crich Tramway Museum, Matlock and Matlock Bath, the Heights of Abraham and Chesterfield with its famous crooked spire. For the more energetic, Alton Towers, The American Adventure Theme Park, Buxton and the Manifold Valley are also within easy reach.

With the small bustling towns of Matlock, Ashbourne, Bakewell and various Mill Shops nearby and the Meadowhall shopping centre less than an hour away, spend a day browsing the shops.

Cottages (3 bedrooms sleeps 6)

Beeley, Ashover and Farley cottages all sleep 6. All cottages are named after historic halls, castles and stately homes in Derbyshire.

All have two double rooms with Kingsize bed and en-suite shower room and a twin room with en-suite wet room or shower. All new cottages have one of their bedrooms on the ground floor with ensuite or wet-room and can be twin or double. All main bedrooms have a TV.

Each cottage has entrance hall, with open plan kitchen / dining room / lounge with TV : DVD : video and CD Hi-Fi. Kitchens are fully equipped with the latest essentials including all crockery, cutlery, dishwasher, electric oven and hob, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer and microwave.

These cottages can be booked together to sleep a total 18 guests at a discount of 10%. Ideal for those wishing to holiday as a group but still requiring some privacy.

Discounts for Short Breaks

Short breaks available - stay for a weekend or mid-week break, discounts for late deals in selected cottages, discounts also available for just two sharing and large groups staying in multiple cottages. Longer term lets - please ask for details.
