being part of the old 'workhouse'. The house is located in the
centre of Alstonefield village in the heart of the Peak District
- an ideal location for ramblers and nature enthusiasts. The
house is a short walk from the scenic beauty of Dovedale and
Beresford Dale. This locality has a host of other attractions
- Tissington Trail, Manifold Valley Trail, Chatsworth House,
Haddon Hall etc.
And...the Gateway to Dovedale!
The house has been carefully renovated to retain many of
the original 18th century features. It is an ideal retreat
for those seeking the beauty of the Peak District and is well
suited to ramblers. The house is not suitable for children
under 14 years old. From a small paved area outside the back
door a short pathway leads to a large, south facing, private
garden bordered by fields.
Accommodation
Ground Floor
Spacious lounge/dining room with original oak beams and an
open fire place features a comfortable cottage-style suite,
antique settle, dining table, colour TV/Video and CD/Radio.
A fitted kitchen, with quarry tile floor, has modern appliances
including electric oven and hob, micro-wave, fridge, automatic
washing machine and dishwasher. Bathroom and toilet are on
the ground floor; there is an electric shower over the bath
and a separate WC.
First Floor
A twin bedded room with renovated sash window has lovely views
across the village to the hills beyond.
Second Floor
A further flight of stairs leads to a large twin bedded room
enjoying spectacular views to both the North and South of
the house.
Outside
The private garden has garden furniture and a BBQ.
Facilities
Electricity/gas is all included. Central heating is gas fired
(LPG).
Open Fire: bucket of coal and one basket of logs provided
- further fuel supplies can be bought locally.
Bedding included: not towels.
Car Parking: parking for one car on road outside the house;
further official parking is available in the village.
