The Old Post office is a large detached house set in spacious
gardens in the centre of the Peak District village of Earl
Sterndale. Fully centrally heated, it sleeps 9 people in 4
bedrooms. There are many good walks from the village and cycle
routes within close proximity. You will find many interesting
areas to explore within half an hour's drive including The
Roaches, Dovedale, Millers Dale, Carsington Water and Castleton
(the famous Blue John mines)
Accommodation (4 bedrooms, sleeps 9)
The good sized lounge has comfortable seating a colour TV,
DVD, CD and iPOD docking. The separate dining room has an
old fashioned dresser and a large table comfortably seating
9 people. There is a fully equipped kitchen with electric
oven hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer
together with washing & cleaning materials. Off the lounge
is a downstairs bedroom, which has 2 single beds which can
be zipped together to form a 6' superking. It has an en-suite
shower room with toilet and basin.
Upstairs there are 3 further bedrooms, 2 have a double bed
and one has 3 single beds (one is 2'6" wide and the other
two are 3' wide and can be zipped together to form a superking).
The 3 bedded room has a colour TV with integral DVD player.
The family bathroom has a large bath with shower over plus
toilet and basin. There is an additional washroom on the 1st
floor with toilet and vanity unit with basin.
Outside there are lawned areas to the side with large ornamental
stones. To the rear there are patio areas with garden furniture
and a boules piste.
We keep a range of local guide books and maps to help you
plan your activities and there is plenty of room in the storage
area for boots, bikes and to hang wet clothing.
Please note that the garden is terraced with steep steps
so care must be taken, especially with children.
