  tideswell - merman farm cottage ::

 

 

The village of Tideswell stands in the heart of the Peak District National Park and is one of the oldest settlements in the central Peak District. There is excellent walking and outdoor pursuits including climbing and cycling on the newly opened Monsal Trail with rugged peaks to the north, gentle hills and dales to the south and Millers Dale just outside the village. Mam Tor, Castleton, Chatsworth and Bakewell are only a few miles away and the popular spa town of Buxton is within a 15 minute drive. Tideswell also has many fine country inns and excellent restaurants, a chemist, butchers, co-op, greengrocers, bakers and much more.

This cottage is a traditional stone built former farmhouse in a quite location, a few minutes walk from the centre of Tideswell village. It has been fully restored by the owner. Merman Farm offers quality accommodation of real character and charm and it combines many original features with modern design and home comforts.

Accommodation (5 Bedrooms, Sleeps 11)

There is a good size dining room which seats 10. The sitting room has a wood burning stove, a 42" flat screen TV with Sky movies & Sports, DVD and CD and it also seats 10. Full gas central heating is included.

The kitchen has a French oak units with feature brick fireplace with built-in Aga and an adjoining utility room. The kitchen has a microwave, fridge, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

On the ground floor there is a basin, WC & shower for washing dogs.

Bedrooms comprise of:
  1. Super king-size double (zip/link - can be twin on request) with ensuite (shower, basin & WC).
  2. Double with ensuite (shower, basin & WC).
  3. Double.
  4. Twin 76cm (2' 6') wide singles with ensuite (shower, basin & WC).
  5. Twin with additional stacker bed which is available on request for child under 16.

The property has an attic room which has a single bed and is also a games area with board games & built-in washing machine.

There is a main bathroom with bath, separate shower, basin & WC.

Outside there is a small patio area with furniture & BBQ, ideal for sitting out. A spacious, enclosed lawn area is 25m away, adjoining a one-acre paddock for exercising your dog and out door activities.
