Tideswell is a quaint and bustling village whose origins
can be traced back to the 7th Century. Its fine Church is
known as the Cathedral of the Peak. Tideswell regularly wins
the Derbyshire Best Kept Village Award and the Britain in
Bloom Village Award and is a Conservation Village which lies
in the heart of the Peak District National Park.
It has a fine range of 'local shops', pubs and tea-rooms,
which specialise in fresh local produce.. It is well placed
for walking with Monsal Dale and Millar's Dale close by. The
towns of Bakewell and Buxton are also close at hand as is
Chatsworth House. Many episodes of Peak Practice have been
filmed locally.
Butterfield Cottage is a pretty double fronted 18th century
stone cottage set on the edge of the village, just five minutes
walk from the centre. It has rural views and backs on to fields
and open spaces. It was refurbished in Feb 2010
Accommodation
The sitting room has plenty of comfortable seating around
a Derbyshire stone fireplace with logburner. There is a free
Sat HD TV and CD/DVD player with games, books and DVD's available
to make you feel at home. The oak dining table seats 6 and
overlooks the sunny walled garden, there is a high chair.
The kitchen is extremely well equipped with plenty of crockery,
glassware and utensils for your stay. There is a washing machine,
dishwasher, hob and oven, microwave, ironing facilities and
a larder fridge. The bathroom has bath with shower over,WC
and hand basin with lighted mirror and shaver point.
There are 3 bedrooms, two are double and one is twin, the
twin room has an en-suite shower room, hand basin, lighted
mirror with shaver point and WC. A travel cot is provided
but please bring your own linen for this. The cottage is fully
centrally heated.
All rooms are tastefully furnished with good quality furniture
and antiques.

Badger Cottage, Cressbrook
Cressbrook is one of Derbyshire's most secret and picturesque
villages. It is a conservation village in the heart of the
Peak District National Park and is set within an area of Outstanding
Natural Beauty where wildflowers and wildlife abound.
It is the centre of some excellent walking and the Monsal
Trail is just minutes away. It is close to Bakewell, Buxton
and the local village of Tideswell where the shops specialise
in fresh local produce. Chatsworth House is about ten minutes
drive.
Badger Cottage is a pretty 18th Century Grade 2 listed mid-
terraced stone cottage located in the centre of Cressbrook
opposite the pub. It has breath-taking views along the length
of Monsal Dale and to Matlock on the horizon.
Accommodation
A welcoming sitting room with plenty of comfortable seating
around a Derbyshire fireplace with log burner. There is a 32 inch widescreen HD TV and CD/DVD player .Games books and DVD's supplied at the
fireside.
The kitchen is extremely well equipped with plenty of crockery,
glassware and utensils for your stay. There is a washer/dryer,
dishwasher, hob and oven, microwave, ironing facilities and
a fridge with ice box.
The down stairs bathroom has a bath with shower above, lighted
mirror with shaver point, hand basin and WC. Upstairs is a
shower room with WC, handbasin and shaver point. There are
three bedrooms, two are double and one has sturdy full size
bunk beds. The master bedroom has a small TV and it is ideal
to relax in after a busy day.

Bluebell Cottage, Tideswell

Bluebell Cottage is a pretty double fronted 17th Century
stone cottage which was formerly a Village Inn. It has many original features and beams have
been retained. It nestles in a quiet street in the centre
of Tideswell close to shops, tea-rooms and pubs.
Accommodation
An inviting beamed sitting room with plenty of seating around a stone fireplace with log burner. There is a 32 inch widescreen full HD TV and CD/DVD player, books, puzzles and DVD's are at hand to make you feel at home. The oak refectory dining table seats 8 comfortably.
The kitchen is extremely well equipped with plenty of crockery,
glassware and utensils for your stay. There is a Washing Machine,
Bosch double oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, ironing
facilities and a fridge with icebox.
The bathroom has bath with shower over, lighted mirror with
shaver point,WC and hand basin.
There are three bedrooms. The family room has a double bed
and steep steps leading to a galleried sleeping area in the
eaves with a second double bed. This room has a small TV and
an en-suite shower room with lighted mirror with shaver point
WC and hand basin. The second bedroom has a double bed and
the third bedroom has twin beds. There's also a sofa bed in
the sitting room which sleeps an extra person.

The Cottage is fully gas centrally heated.

a few minutes walk.
