The Holmes Barn is adjacent to The
Hulmes Vale House which are both family run large holiday
cottages and if booked together are capable of accommodating
up to 30 people.
The Holmes Barn is a part of a family run business, surround
by approx 10 acres of its own grounds. The Barn has been completely
redeveloped to the highest standard and specification to assure
the maximum comfort for guests throughout their stay.
Why not bring your horse on holiday? We are situated in an
ideal location for you to explore the Pennine Bridleway and
there is also a wide variety of scenic trails for you and
your horse to enjoy. Also available within easy travelling
distance are fishing, golf, climbing, gliding facilities and
much more. There are also many miles of walking and cycling
trails for both the novice and experienced holiday maker.
Location
We are situated just off the A623 near the spa town of Buxton,
and conveniently located to enable guests to visit many of
Derbyshires attractions including Chatsworth House,
Haddon Hall, Bakewell, Castleton with its many caves and much,
much more.
The nearest villages of Tideswell and Bradwell are approx
10 mins drive away and offer all facilities and many public
houses for dining out opportunities. The market town of Chesterfield
and the city of Sheffield are also within an hours drive.
Pets are welcome at The Holmes Barn provided they are house
trained and well behaved, guests must provide suitable bedding,
feed bowls etc and are expected to keep pets off beds and
furnishings, also dogs must not be left unattended at any
time. There will however be a bedroom kept pet free for guests
who may suffer from allergies or asthma.
On site the animal residents are - 4 dogs (Smokey, Bandit,
Spook and Billy) also family horses Mack and Connor and pony
Percy. Livery facilities are also available on site.
Accommodation
The accommodation can easily sleep 15/16 guests in our newly
developed and completely refurbished barn.
Your stay with us includes all bedding and duvets. The barn
is centrally heated throughout.
The Holmes Barn is fully equipped with crockery and cutlery.
There is a free standing all electric range style cooker,
fridge, freezer, microwave oven and dishwasher. A separate
drying room is available with washing machine.
In the dining area there is a large rustic farmhouse table
which extends to easily seat 18 people, in the living area
there is a colour TV with DVD/video (small selection available)
also radio/CD player, and free wireless internet access (with
your own laptop). There are ground floor sleeping facilities
if required incorporating a private area with a bed settee,
room for clothes storage and access to the downstairs cloakroom.
Bedrooms 1 & 2 have shared access to the first bathroom.
Bedroom 1 comprises - 2 single beds & 1 adult bunk bed
Bedroom 2 comprises - 2 adult bunk beds
The shared bathroom is fully tiled and has quadrant shower,
toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail.
Bedrooms 3 & 4 have shared access to the second bathroom.
Bedroom 3 comprises - 1 adult bunk bed & 1 single bed
Bedroom 4 comprises - 2 single beds & 1 adult bunk bed
The shared bathroom is fully tiled and has quadrant shower,
toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail.
All bedroom have wardrobes, chest of drawers and bedside
cabinets, cots and highchairs are available on request.
There is ample car parking near the property and secure storage
is available for wet weather gear, boots. There is also on
site storage large enough for bikes, climbing equipment, hang
gliders etc..
There are many opportunities for eating out and buying provisions
within easy car driving distance or to make your stay with
us even easier order from Tesco and have it delivered straight
to Holmes Barn for the day of your arrival.
