two dales - toad cottage ::

This delightful 17th Century stone cottage is an ideal base for a holiday in the heart of England. Toad Cottage is located in the quiet village of Two Dales, half way between Matlock and Bakewell, 50 yds from the village pub and a short walk (from the door) to the Peak District National Park.

The one reoccurring theme in the visitor’s book is that this cottage always exceeds our guest’s expectations. This is a very interesting and historical cottage situated in a beautiful location. It is very spacious offering extremely comfortable accommodation with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Toad Cottage is situated in the old Blacksmith Yard in the heart of the Derbyshire village of Two Dales. This historical building is believed to have originally been built early in the 17th Century as the barn and stables for the local blacksmith but is known to have spent some time as part of the Blacksmiths Arms Public House and also as a village shop. The building was tastefully converted some years ago into living accommodation but has lost none of it's natural charm with exposed beams, open heath fireplace and many original fixtures and fittings.

Toad Cottage is personally managed by the owners, who do their utmost to ensure you have everything to make your stay enjoyable. Please note that for the comfort of our guests, we do not allow smoking in Toad Cottage.

Toad Cottage was brought onto the holiday homes market early last year and so has been completely refurbished and upgraded during 2006 which has resulted in the 4 star grading by VisitBritain in December 2006.
