  hathersage - morley cottage ::

This is a lovely cottage in the popular village of Hathersage, Hope Valley, Derbyshire and it has been graded 4 stars by the English Tourism Council.

Morley Cottage is a Peak District holiday cottage situated in the centre of the village of Hathersage, at the eastern end of the Hope Valley. It offers charming self-catering (vacation rental) Peak District accommodation for two people, with a cot and high chair available for a small child. It is graded 4 stars.

It is south facing, and set back from the main village road, while the rear of the cottage overlooks a tranquil area of gardens, farmland and woodlands.

Hathersage is a popular centre for holiday makers, with easy access to the moors and the gritstone edges, such as Stanage Edge. The village is a superb centre for walking, climbing, cycling and other outdoor activities.

Hathersage is the fabled burial place of Robin Hood's Little John, and the place where Charlotte Bronte set her book 'Jane Eyre' - using a common local surname. It is close to Castleton (just 4 miles away), with its castle and famous limestone caverns, and other popular attractions, such as Chatsworth House.

The cottage is built in local stone as an annex to the owners house, Morley Lodge. The building has been lovingly and sympathetically converted by the current owners. The cottage is set back from the main village road and the back of the cottage looks out across surrounding gardens and woodlands.
